Aurora's boys and girls cross country teams are no strangers to qualifying for the state meet, which they accomplished again Thursday afternoon.

The Husky boys won the C-4 district title at Minden with 38 points while the girls team earned a runner-up spot behind Minden with 48 points, each punching tickets to next Friday's state meet in Kearney.

All five boys runners finished in the top 15, led by Dylan Riley in 7th, Lucas Gautier in 8th, Isaac Bisbee in 11th, Max Wiarda 12th and Eli Warnke 13th.

For the girls team, Elena Kuehner earned a bronze medal while Kaitlyn Oswald finished 12th and Laighla Rice was 14th.

The boys team features four returning qualifiers from its 2019 state championship season while the girls team has three returners.

Kearney Country Club is the site for the state meet Friday as the Class C girls race begins at 1:30 p.m. with the Class C boys at 2 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin immediately following the boys race for each class near the finish line.
