Logan Svoboda ran into a buzzsaw Friday night in his semifinal match.

The Aurora freshman was challenged by Bennington's Cadyn Coyle as the Badger picked up a first period pinfall over Svoboda. The loss moves Svoboda into Saturday's medal matches, wrestling for as high as third or low as sixth.

Karsten Hohm also participated in the heartbreak round for the Huskies, losing a 2-0 decision to Gering's Isaiah Murillo to fall one match short of a medal position. Hohm finishes his junior season with a 34-16 record.

Hohm began Friday's competition at the state wrestling championships in Omaha with a win in his second round consolation match over Hudson Harlow of Douglas County West, picking up a second period pinfall.

It was heartbreak, though, for Carson Krejci, who was leading his opening consolation match against Auburn's Ayden Smith, but was turned into a pinfall. Krejci ends his freshman campaign with a 14-15 record.
