Rosemary was born on February 22, 1932, in Aurora and attended grade school and high school in Aurora. After graduation in 1949, she attended one year of nurses’ training in Spokane, WA, but after returning home to Aurora for summer vacation, she began dating Robert, and that was the end of nurses’ training. The two were married in August 1952 and enjoyed a long, full life together with their four children, marked by numerous family reunions and camping/fishing trips, annual vacations to their timeshare in Mexico, and travels to Hawaii, Europe and all over the U.S. with friends and relatives.
After their marriage, the couple initially lived in Hastings, and then Tacoma, WA, before settling down in Omaha, where they were charter members of St. Richard Parish. Both Rosemary and Bob were active in the church, serving at various times as parish council president and vice-president and organizing many wonderful events over the years. Rosemary was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child was in high school, and then she began working in market research, conducting surveys over the phone and in person at the Crossroads Mall in Omaha. In her spare time and after retirement, Rosemary (and Bob) enjoyed entertaining and playing cards (mostly pinochle) with friends and family, feeding the backyard birds and birdwatching, and of course, traveling. For a few years, the family had a huge vegetable garden at a nearby farm and Rosemary canned and froze the fruits of their labor. She was an excellent cook and baker; her cinnamon bread was legendary! An avid reader, she also enjoyed watching sports (basketball, baseball and football, in that order of preference) and doing jigsaw puzzles in her later years.
Those left to cherish Rosemary’s memory are children, Randy (Ann Marie), Scott, Kim (Jim) and Jane Wilson; brother, Jim Kluck (Mary Jane) of Huntington Beach, CA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other loving family and friends.
