Norma Joseph, age 91, of Grand Island, formerly of Hampton, peacefully passed away on Wednesday April 27, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton.   Rev. Dan Barbey will officiate.  Interment will be at the Hampton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.  Condolences may be emailed through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Norma Pearl Joseph the daughter of Herman and Pearl (Dearinger) Brauer was born on May, 5 1930 in Kansas City, KS.
Norma grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Wyanalatt Senior High School.  She worked for ATT in Kansas City.  She was united in marriage to Gerhard ’Jerry’ Joseph on April 23, 1954.  After Jerry returned from the Navy, they moved to Nebraska.  They farmed north of Hampton their entire married life, retiring in 1993.  They moved to Riverside Lodge in Grand Island, in 2009.  Jerry passed away on July 18, 2012.
Norma was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.  She was involved in Girl Scotts for many years, sang in the choir, enjoyed crafting, helping on the farm, and watching the changing of the seasons.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, James (Kathleen) Joseph, of Mesa AZ,  Charles (LeeAnn) Joseph, of Grand Island,  Barbara (Neal) Krieg, of Kansas City, KS, and Debra Joseph of Ord;  9 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian) Wohlers, Timothy (Starr) Joseph,  Matthew (Lacey) Krieg, Amanda (Tyler) Kemp, Nicolas (Alicia) Krieg, Kevin Joseph of Grand Island,  Sarah (Jeremy) Gorecki, Heather (Andrew) Van Velson, Daniel (Julie) Proskocil; 19 great-grandchildren;  sisters Barbara Hautman and Marilyn (George) Magenheimer; brother Fred (Georgia) Brauer; sister in-law; Arlene Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.
