Lois Dietrich, 94, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sunrise of Henderson in Henderson, Nev.

Lois’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

Lois Ann (Springer) Dietrich, the daughter of Edward R. and Emma (Springer) Springer, was born in Aurora on May 8, 1927 and passed away in Henderson, Nev., on May 2, 2022, at the age of 94.

She graduated from Aurora High School in 1945. Following her graduation, Lois attended college for one year.

Lois was united in marriage to Herbert Dietrich on Nov. 5, 1946 at Reno, Nev. In June of 1947 they moved to Aurora, where they raised a daughter. Lois worked at Ann’s Fashion and was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In 1962, they moved to Grand Island where Herb established a commercial appliance business which he operated until 1972, when, because of his health, he sold and they moved to Estes Park, Colo. Lois ran a store in Estes Park called The Patchwork Dept. Store. Herb passed away on June 29, 1973. 

Lois returned to Aurora in 2020 for almost a year before moving to a nursing home in Grand Island and then to Henderson, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Mary Krier, and grandson David Young.

Survivors include her cousin, Barbara Dietrich (Dean Thieszen) of Aurora and her three children, Barry (Rhonda) Dietrich of Marquette, Laura (Tom) Deets of Pleasanton and Brenda (Don) Wohlgemuth of Holdrege. She is also survived by granddaughter, Sarah Hadad-Dembs of Alaska, three great-grandchildren, special nieces Andree' (David) Young of California and Cindy (Dewey) Reed of California, and other family members and friends.
