Born on April 15, 1967, Lezlee was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mom and friend. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, sense of fun, and outgoing nature. Lezlee was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. She was a fierce Autism advocate and champion for the rights and acceptance of the marginalized, and will be remembered for her empathetic heart and rare gift of building community wherever she found herself.
Lezlee graduated from Aurora High School in 1985 and later attended Southeast Community College. She married Brian Williams on Oct. 25, 1996. They welcomed their son, Braden on March 23, 1999.
Serving others was Lezlee’s personal mission, which she fulfilled in the many career interests she pursued. She held several roles within Lincoln Public Schools, was a Weight Watchers group leader and a Certified Life Coach. She built a luxury soap and lotion business, Simple Soothings, and most recently served as Executive Assistant to the Director of History Nebraska, a position from which she drew great satisfaction. In 2024 she was recognized with the Excellence In Leadership award which honors public servants who have provided exemplary service to the state.
Lezlee enjoyed baking, and sharing the result with others. She loved music (especially live concerts) and movies. She was a regular at the Ross Theater and each year enjoyed gathering up fellow film buffs to attend the Oscar Best Picture Marathon.
From childhood on, you could count on Lezlee to be up for an adventure; playing in her church bell choir, organizing sip and paint sessions with friends, participating in the Polar Bear Plunge, completing the Good Life Hafsy and just this past summer, trying fishing for the first time. Her happy place was anywhere near the water, leading to her interest in whale watching. Among her best memories were those she collected on outings at the zoo when Braden was growing up, and many trips with Brian to Las Vegas, where they were married.
In the Wizard of Oz (her favorite movie) Dorothy says, “I am glad I was of use to these good friends” and that was how Lezlee felt about the many people she drew into her circle. She loved bringing people together and the joy of lifting one another up. She was the glue.
Lezlee is survived by her husband, Brian Williams, son, Braden Williams both of Lincoln, brother, J. Michael Allen (Glenda Allen) of Aurora and sister Julie Anne Allen (Tim Schatz) also of Lincoln and birth relatives Eldon Wright, Wanda Castillo, Eric Castillo and Tricia Worley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John M. and Pamela Allen.
