Giltner-Harvard girls battle in TVC semifinal
The Giltner-Harvard girls basketball team had an upset in its grasp Thursday night with top-seeded Silver Lake on the ropes.
After an Avery Reeson three, the GH girls had the game within one, 36-35 with five minutes to play in one of the two Twin Valley Conference semifinal matchups.
From there, though, Silver Lake finished the game on a 10-1 run to down Giltner-Harvard, 46-35.
The game was a one-possession battle for much of the second half with GH trailing 21-19 at the break. Peyton Schutt kept Giltner-Harvard within striking distance in the third quarter, totaling six points in the frame, but still trailed 36-30 entering the fourth.
Giltner-Harvard began the fourth with a Tabi Forney bucket before Reeson's three made it a one-point game.
Forney led Giltner-Harvard with 15 points while Schutt added 11. Reeson had five while Chloe Consbruck and Kailyn Wilson each added two.
Giltner-Harvard will play Red Cloud in a third place game Saturday. Silver Lake takes on Shelton for the conference girls title.
