Friday night roundup week 3
Another tough night for area football teams with only one of the four squads picking up a win on week three of the high school season.
The Huskies faced a daunting challenge, taking on Class C1 No. 1 Wahoo on its Homecoming night. The Huskies scored the first touchdown Wahoo has allowed on the season, but it was the Warriors on top, 42-7. Wahoo is now 3-0 on the season while the Huskies fall to 0-3 with a home game against Scotus next week.
Giltner was also a road team Friday night and couldn't find a way to slow down a larger Blue Hill squad as the Bobcats ran away with it, 82-6. The Hornets (0-3) have Homecoming next Friday and a date with Deshler.
Hampton was the lone team to find success Friday night, blanking Harvard and scoring one of the highest totals in the state, 89-0. The Hawks (2-0) are set for a huge clash at home with Pawnee City next week.
High Plains suffered its second consecutive loss Friday, falling at Riverside 46-20 in an afternoon tilt. The Storm (1-2) will be at home next Friday against Nebraska Lutheran.
Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:
Aurora @ Wahoo, 42-7
Giltner @ Blue Hill, 82-6
Hampton @ Harvard, 89-0
High Plains @ Riverside, 46-20
