Retiring city administrator says many projects made possible by collaborating

    Rick Melcher wakes up every morning and grabs his phone to check his calendar, assuming there is some place he is supposed to be. Just a week into his retirement after stepping down from a 42-year career in municipal utility operation and management, the last 27 of those in Aurora, he is adjusting to the reality that his daily to-do list is largely his own, and he is looking forward to the change.…
