Board awaits next steps for projects
The Giltner Village Board met Monday night to discuss upcoming projects involved within the community.
A proposed housing development has been discussed with community members about finding economic development money that the village board might qualify for. The board is working on details with that project, including the timing of when work could begin and who would handle the project.
The board also approved Miller & Associates as its engineer for a proposed water study. Village Clerk Joan Fruit reported that the board is waiting to hear back on results of a NDEE-SRF EPA grant request, which would allow Giltner to receive water from Grand Island.
In other action the village board;
* approved drilling sites for Wells No. 3 and Well No. 4;
* approved the street closure for the Giltner alumni banquet and dance June 7;
* discussed with community members the possibility of raising the maximum amount of chickens a person can own within Giltner;
* shared information with community members in attendance regarding two upcoming meetings about the Giltner school bond election in May.
