The boil order that had been placed on Hampton Village water users a week ago has been lifted according to village Utility Supt. Chris Friesen. He reported Tuesday afternoon that water samples taken on Monday had come back showing no traces of E. coli bacteria.

The boil order was issued last Tuesday morning Jan. 23 as crews prepared to shut the village's water system down in order to repair a water main break on the east side of town.

Friesen says tests taken on Thursday were also clear, but a second test had to be taken before the all clear signal could be given.

The boil order was a precautionary measure due to the possibility of bacteria being introduced into the water supply during the process of repairing the break.
