Kicking off the Aurora Cooperative annual meeting last week was U.S. Ambassador Kip Tom.
Tom, bringing his expansive experience and expertise on the subject, spoke to a large morning crowd on the role U.S. agriculture and products play in “feeding a hungry world.”
“I’ve always been coming to Nebraska,” he began. “In 1965 (my dad and I) came to Cherry County angus tour.”
Tom continued, speaking more to the impact his dad had on his early life.
“A year and two days ago, I lost my father,” he said. “Five days before that, 55 of my family members came to his house to say goodbye. That afternoon, when it was done, Dad said, ‘I want to go to the farm one more time.’”
