A suspect fleeing Nebraska State Patrol on Friday near the Giltner Spur led to two school lockouts and a day-long search for the suspect.
Around 10:30 a.m. Friday, a NSP officer spotted a Dodge Ram pickup that was reported stolen from Hastings the day prior, according NSP public relations director Cody Thomas.
The officer attempted a stop, but the driver fled on the Giltner Spur, turning west onto the Interstate 80 on ramp and then driving into a field north of I-80. The officer did not pursue the suspect, but monitored the vehicle, according to NSP reports. The vehicle became stuck and the suspect fled on foot.
