It’s a scene familiar to every Christian child -- the virgin mother, the humble father and the common animals observing the celestial baby in the manger while a star shines above the dark desert to proclaim the momentous event. Sometimes the three wise men will be there to give exotic gifts to the new king. One person who has unique familiarity with that religious tale is Jane Nunnenkamp.
A member of First Lutheran Church, Nunnenkamp has collected 26 depictions of the nativity, with about 12 full sets displayed throughout her home, utilizing as much space as possible to honor the holiday.
