Hampton school board approves budget

The Hampton school board signed off on its fiscal year budget Monday, approving a 1.83 percent increase in general fund tax asking.
Supt. Holly Herzberg noted that for the first time in her tenure, the district’s property valuation went down 4.7 percent, which was a result of a countywide decrease in ag land values. The board heard no input during public hearings on the $2,289,069 budget or levy.
