The Phillips Village Board of Trustees had one of the tightest races of the whole election night, with Les Dana finishing on top with 78 votes, Jason Fry with 77 and a three-way tie between Jim Crawford, Jordan Watson and an unannounced write-in candidate at 71 at time of publishing.
Dana kept his reaction to the election night short on what it meant to be re-elected.
“Apparently, people thought I did a good enough job that they re-elected me,” he said.
He also spoke on his priority being accountability for the board.
“As always accountability (is my priority),” he stated. “That’s basically it. I mean, we want to do what’s best for the village and we want to be accountable to the people in the village.”
Phillips Fire Chief Fry was also re-elected to the board, giving thanks to the voters.
