  • The Giltner Area Development Corporation members will be holding its fifth annual Veteran’s Day program Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m., with the corporation combining forces with Giltner Public Schools for the first time.

    The Giltner Area Development Corporation members will be holding its fifth annual Veteran’s Day program Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m., with the corporation combining forces with Giltner Public Schools for the first time. 
    Giltner Public Schools, which is a co-sponsor this year, will contribute programing, in-class projects and speakers to the event, which will bring children closer to veterans’ experiences on the national holiday, according to Paula Consbruck.
    “We have 105 veterans still on our active lists from the Giltner area,” Consbruck said. “So of that 105, about 25 of them, they’re local, they’re able-bodied and will attend. So there’s plenty of veterans that still we celebrate where they’re invited. (The event will help) the kids connect with the veterans to hear those stories.”
