Aurora and Hampton are headed to the playoffs, one extending a long streak while the other snaps a dry spell. 

The Huskies are in the postseason for the 19th consecutive season while the Hawks qualify for its first playoffs in 12 years. 

Aurora earns the top seed in Class C1 and will host No. 16 Scotus Central Catholic (6-3) Friday night. Kickoff time is scheduled for 7 p.m. 

The Huskies have went deep into the playoffs in the last several years, winning a Class C1 title in 2018 and finishing runner-up in Class B in 2020 and 2021. Aurora will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs as the highest seed. 

The rest of the Class C1 first round games include No. 9 Lincoln Christian (7-2) vs No. 8 Omaha Roncalli (7-2); No. 5 Boone Central (7-2) vs No. 12 Minden (6-3); No. 13 Auburn (6-3) vs No. 4 Ashland-Greenwood (8-1); No. 3 McCook (9-0) vs No. 14 Broken Bow (5-4); No. 11 Platteview (6-3) vs No. 6 Adams Central (7-2); No. 7 Columbus Lakeview (7-2) vs No. 10 Wahoo (6-3); No. 15 Central City (5-4) vs No. 2 Pierce (9-0). 

Hampton is returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2010 and the first time since joining the Six-Man ranks. The Hawks posted a 5-3 record during the 2022 season, its first winning record since 2010 and a district runner-up effort. 

The Hawks (5-3) earned the No. 13 seed and will travel to No. 4 Red Cloud (7-1) Friday night. Kickoff time is scheduled for 6 p.m. 

The rest of the D6 first round games include No. 1 Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (8-0) vs No. 16 Wallace (4-4); No. 9 Sterling (6-2) vs No. 8 Shelton (6-2); No. 5 Parkview Christian (7-1) vs No. 12 Southwest (5-3); No. 3 Potter-Dix (8-0) vs No. 14 Brady (4-4); No. 11 Stuart (5-3) vs No. 6 Pawnee City (6-2); No. 7 Cody-Kilgore (6-2) vs No. 10 Hay Springs (5-3); No. 15 Wilcox Hildreth (4-4) vs No. 2 Arthur County (8-0).
