Hampton the only one of four area schools to show gain

One full month into the new school year enrollment totals are in with the four area districts reporting a combined decrease of six students.
Hampton Public Schools was the only local district to show an increase, up three students, while Aurora’s total dropped by four, High Plains by three and Giltner by two. By comparison, combined enrollment a year ago showed an increase of 28 students -- up 32 at Giltner, up 12 at Aurora, up six at Hampton and down 22 at High Plains.
Here are the latest totals by district as of the end of September, with input from school superintendents.
