Area football roundup Week 6

Body

Another solid week for area football teams, going a collective 3-1 in week six.

Aurora, Hampton and High Plains all picked up convincing wins in their respective matchups Friday. The Huskies went on the road and left no doubt as Carlos Collazo unofficially set a new single-game school record for rushing yards in a 54-14 win at Minden. Unofficially, Collazo ran the ball 24 times for 298 yards and five scores. He added 80 reception yards and another score to boot. The previous school record was shared by Collazo and Jerry Lobeda with 285.

Collazo also broke the career rushing touchdown mark of 50 Friday night, previously held by Aaron Collingham.

Hampton made quick work of Santee, moving its record to 3-2, the first time the Hawks have had a winning record this late into the season since 2011 while High Plains got a win in its final home game of the year against Palmer.

Listed are all area teams and the scores of those games with the winning team in bold:

Aurora @ Minden, 54-14

Giltner @ Nebraska Lutheran, 64-36

Hampton vs Santee, 78-7

High Plains vs Palmer, 48-20
