Aurora and Class C No. 7 Central City made quick work of its Thursday night matchup.
With the threat of rain and two dominant pitchers, the Huskies and Bison completed its seven-inning battle in a shade under 90 minutes as Central City came out ahead on its home field, 2-0.
One of Aurora’s best chances to score was in the top of the first as Zoey Johnson led off with a walk before a hard single by Eva Fahrnbruch.
Even though Johnson was put out at third on a fielder’s choice, Aurora had the Fahrnbruch sisters, Eva and Adi, in scoring position with one out, but the Lady Huskies couldn’t push any across.
Aurora coach Ashton Voss noted that the Huskies were unable to get out of the mud offensively throughout the night.
“We just couldn’t get our offense going,” the coach said. “She pitched a lot of outside corner and our girls chased.  She is a good pitcher and really defines their team.”
