Carson Klute hired as new Hawk principal/act. director
Thayer Central coach/teacher hired to join Hampton staff
The Hampton School Board confirmed the hiring Monday of local Carson Klute to step up from a teaching-coaching role to become the district’s new high school principal/activities director.
Supt. Holly Herzberg recommended Klute be hired to replace Brad Feik, who resigned his position last month.
“This won’t come as a surprise to anyone,” Herzberg said of a hiring process which literally began within minutes after last month’s board meeting. “Knowing that we needed to move quickly to get a new principal in place we advertised the position at 10 p.m. that night. We had five applications and the following Sunday interviewed three people. One candidate really rose to the top in the interview process and we selected Mr. Carson Klute to fill that role moving forward. We re very excited to have him.”
Klute is a 2010 Hampton graduate who taught for five years in Deshler as a social studies teacher before returning to Hampton three years ago to run the district’s Career Pathways program.
