The following is a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department:
On May 1 the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office was notified that a 17-year-old male had suffered a gunshot wound while hunting with friends, which occurred in southern Hamilton County. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting with the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol.
On May 3, the victim, Caleb Ladehoff, 17, of Sutton, passed away at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln as a result of his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
