Aurora looking for consistency in basketball transition

Body

There were times during Aurora’s season-opener Thursday against Adams Central where the Huskies looked like a team who hasn’t practiced much.
Well, they haven’t. Yet, the flashes of a good basketball team were there.
Aurora got ahead early and never really looked back after that as the Huskies picked up a 45-33 win over Adams Central on opening night.
The win marked the first for new coach Kevin Asher at Aurora, who noted after the game the grittiness of the Huskies to pull out a win after almost no practice at all.
“Going in, I knew things wouldn’t be perfect. We just haven’t had enough reps,” Asher commented. “We haven’t had enough reps in a lot of areas offensively and when you get fatigued, your mind knows what to do, your body just won’t do it. We missed a few bunnies but I liked the pace we played with.”
