A solid night on the attack and defensive play at the net pushed Aurora to the top Tuesday night.

Aleah Vinkenberg was solid offensively while Rachel Hunter and Delaney Nachtigal were strong defensively as Aurora defeated Holdrege on the road in four, 25-22, 25-15, 17-25 and 25-18.

Vinkenberg was hot from the start in the opening set while Hunter was in charge both offensively and defensively in the second.

The third was where Aurora found trouble, falling behind 9-1 and was never able to fully recover.

Aurora found its groove again with several blocks and timely attacks to win in four.

The Lady Huskies now have a week off with its next match coming Tuesday, Sept. 14 on the road at Adams Central.
