Mike Irons airs question on how to contact members

Much like school boards across the state, the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education faced conversation surrounding Nebraska’s proposed health education standards at Monday afternoon’s meeting.
Though they had the item on the agenda for later in the meeting, concern and questions were brought over the topic during public participation to begin the meeting.
Community member Mike Irons spoke on behalf of the GOP in Hamilton County, noting his conversations had led him to believe that many had not yet addressed their concerns with the 4R board due to confusion on how to do so.
“Trying to get contact information, it was kind on lacking to say the least,” Irons began.
He further explained that he had been in contact with Supt. Jody Phillips, but the resolution was just to forward points and questions on to the board -- not being able to contact them directly.
“We would like to talk directly to our board members,” he said.
