Blue Star quilts honor past guild members

The Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild put on its annual quilt show during this year’s A’ROR’N Days celebration. 
Among the variety of quilts, a blue star could be seen pinned to some of them. This star designated quilts made by guild members who had passed away, some very recently.
Those honored this year include Kathy Akerlund, Pat Oswald, Stella Schaffert and Marilyn Wortman.
“The idea evolved as we thought about who all had passed in just the last couple of years,” Jeanette Friesen voiced. “We wanted a way to recognize and honor them. Two were current members and two were members some years ago.
