Heat and humidity help weeds across the county spring to life and Hamilton County Noxious Weed Supt. Jeremy Brandt shared what to be on the lookout for and how to handle unwanted plants.
Problem weeds can be sorted into two categories -- noxious and invasive. Noxious weeds are required to be controlled by landowners on their property.
In Hamilton County these include: Canada thistle, musk thistle, leafy spurge, plumeless thistle, spotted knapweed, diffuse knapweed, purple loosestrife, saltcedar, phragmites, Japanese knotweed, giant knotweed and sericea lespedeza.
