The Hamilton Community Foundation and Aurora High School art students have teamed up to redecorate one of the heart statues that was previously located outside of the Alice M. Farr Library.
The new painted design was created by the students and has been named “Depots at Dawn.” It features a depiction of two train depots and a train lamp.
“Originally, the community came together to purchase two hearts for Hamilton County,” said Tammy Morris, executive director of HCF. “The original artist used some decals on it and I just think in our weather it didn’t hold up.”
With the condition of the heart deteriorating it was decided to hand the statue over to local art students to give it a new design.
