Coming off a loss earlier in the week, the Aurora boys soccer team answered the bell.
The Huskies dropped a 3-0 contest to area rival Grand Island Northwest in its first home game March 30, but bounced back for a 5-0 win at Columbus Lakeview Thursday.
Aurora coach Madison Farris noted that the Huskies responded well out of a loss and played aggressive in a win over Lakeview.
“Our communication and overall intensity worked well for us against Lakeview,” Farris noted. “I felt like we set the tone off the bat as the more aggressive team. We won the vast majority of 50-50 balls, took many more shots and our solid communication kept us organized through most of the game.”
Aurora started the scoring almost right away as Andrew Bell found the back of the net off an Eli Warnke corner kick two minutes into the game.
Farris pointed out using Bell on the corner is plenty aggressive, but added that the tenacity Bell brings to the pitch makes it worth the risk.
