United Methodist Church to host even bigger garden, plots

Body

Another hallmark of spring, the gardening season will soon be in full bloom and with it comes a new chance for gardeners to once again partake in a community garden, located near the Aurora United Methodist Church, at 1406 A St.
“The Garden of Eden started around 2011,” Pastor Michelle Reed noted. “The idea was to give people the experience of growing food, to provide a place for people to grow healthy food, to offer space for people to have a garden if they didn’t have any, and to offer fellowship among the gardeners. The church received a grant to get hoses and sprinklers and basic supplies that they needed.”
The garden started with mostly church members, she added, who had individual plots they would plant, weed, water, grow on and harvest from.
