Husky grapplers win five individual golds
Aurora finishes 2nd in team race
Aurora came back to the mat full speed ahead, winning five individual golds on its way to a 2nd place team finish Saturday at the Central Conference wrestling tournament at Adams Central.
The Huskies finished with 176.5 points, just behind Columbus Lakeview's 181.5 to win the team championship, which the Huskies were vying to repeat.
Aurora had five champions on the day, including Caden Svoboda, Trevor Kluck, Mack Owens, Jack Allen and Aaron Jividen.
Svoboda is a two-time Central Conference champion while Kluck entered rare air, becoming a four-time Central Conference champ.
Aurora had six wrestlers vying for top spot by day's end as well as two fourths and a sixth.
The Huskies will be back in action next week with the postseason underway, competing in subdistrict action.
