Dennis Lynn Wall, 94, of Hampton passed away on Sept. 6, 2026, at Hearthstone Nursing Home in York. He was born on May 20, 1932, in Hampton, to Herman and Florence (Dobberstein) Wall.
Dennis graduated from Hampton High School in 1950. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. After serving his country, on Sept. 23, 1956, he married Beverly Lindholm in Kearney, NE. Together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage, passing just 17 days short of their 70th anniversary.
A farmer by trade, Dennis worked the land his whole life, first alongside his father, Herman, and later with his sons. They built many of the homes that still stand in Hampton today. He was known throughout the community as a man who was always willing to lend a hand — whether it was fixing a neighbor’s roof, clearing a driveway after a snowstorm, or mowing a lawn for someone who needed the help. His generosity and work ethic touched countless families in town.
Dennis was a lifelong member of St. Peter Church in Hampton, where his faith and his community were deeply intertwined. Over the years he held numerous positions within the church, giving generously of his time and leadership to a congregation he dearly loved. After St. Peter’s closed its doors, he moved his membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk. He was also a member of the American Legion. Outside of church and farming, he loved tending his garden and rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Hampton Hawks, supporting the community’s young athletes with the same loyalty he gave to everything else in his life.
After their retirement, Dennis and Beverly enjoyed traveling, going on many trips to see family. They went on many cruises and especially loved going almost every year to Branson with the York Fun Club to see the Christmas shows.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Beverly Wall, of York; his five children, Brian (Karen) of Aurora; David (Janet) of Rochester, Minn.; Denise (Scott) Carpenter of Olathe, Kan.; Kevin (Angie) of Hampton and Mike (Courtney) of Forney, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Florence (Dobberstein) Wall, and his sister, Janice.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Sept. 11 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2406 East 26 Road, Polk. Rev. David Ohlman will officiate.
