Aurora Senior Center called a ‘lifesaver’ for some, generously serving up friendship, purpose and community every single day
Weekday lunch meals are one of the most important programs of the senior center. In the last fiscal year more than 16,000 meals were served either on-site or through the Meals on Wheels program.
The weekly Rummikub games are one of the more popular activities at the Hamilton County Senior Center. At top left is Al Hultgren who has become a daily attender of the center’s noontime meals where he helps out by handing out meals in the drive-through program for people who prefer to take their meals home to eat.
Having served more than 16,000 meals over the last 12 months, either on-site or through its Meals on Wheels and drive-through pickup programs, the Hamilton County Senior Center is thought of by many as just a place for older people to get a hot, nutritious meal at a reasonable price.
