Staehr, Peterson combine for three state track medals

Kaitlyn Staehr nearly had a mental breakdown during Thursday’s Class B triple jump. Her first two jumps were scratches and her third was only enough to squeak into the finals by three inches.  Staehr took off from there, though, hitting a new best mark of 38-1.50 to finish second overall to Gretna East’s Mixan Melrose, who won with a 38-9.25.
