The holidays in Hamilton County looked a little different in 1989. 
Diving backwards in time for a bit of a historical recap, the News-Register sought out what it could in the form of old bound editions from the year, housed at the Plainsman Museum in Aurora.
The Dec. 22 edition of the Aurora News-Register looked uncharacteristically festive at first glance. Headlines for the week of Christmas included “Kansas firm published local housing for elderly survey” and “Commissioners accept low bid for patrol vehicle.”
