Proposed update to highway dept. shop in the works

Jeremy Brandt made one of his first presentations as Hamilton County highway superintendent Monday, as he presented proposed safety improvements and construction options within the highway shop and office areas to commissioners.
“We’ve been working on looking at the state property that we’ve acquired over there and we went over there and started talking about what would be needed in the shop to make that work,” Brandt began. “(As well as) the office space and how we would utilize that.”
The space includes a few small offices, which wouldn’t be effective for what the current department needs, he added.
