On July 3, Phillips residents came out to celebrate in their typical fesitve fashion. Starting at 5 p.m there were bursts of activities for all ages and a dinner at 6. Fire Chief Jason Fry and his team of five other firefighters/ pyrotechnics lit off fireworks at 10, moving the launch pad from the ballfield further east due to high winds.
“We got more donations or sponsorships, so we got a little bit more fireworks,” Fry said. “We tried to put on an awesome display, so we get people keep coming back. I thank the people that donate money and the sponsors for putting it on.”
