Candidates planning to throw their hat in the ring for locally elected offices can officially file as of this week.
Hamilton County Clerk Jill DeMers reported that Jan. 5 was the first day people can file for elected office. Incumbents have until Feb. 15 to make their intentions known, while non-incumbents can file for the primary election up until March 1. The primary election is scheduled for May 10, with the General Election on the calendar for Nov. 8.
There are numerous four-year terms up for grabs in the 2022 election cycle, both at the county and city level.
