Students and their families are in a rush to finalize college plans and getting financial aid applications done across the nation. Right there with them, from the beginning of open applications in the fall to when seniors graduate, are counselors offering advice for those trying to navigate the education world. 
They also have insight on the general trends and changes that the application process has been going through over the course of the last few years in the Hamilton County area. 
“I tell my students that not everyone needs a four-year degree,” Hampton school guidance counselor Jan Ediger wrote via email. “Once they find their passion and what they want to do, then they have to match what is needed educationally. We discuss options they may have and hopefully find the correct pathway for them to reach their goals and dreams.”
