Over the past nine months a number of up-and-coming individuals in the Hamilton County community have been working hard to foster skills and relationships in leadership that will take them forward into the future.
The 2021/2022 Hamilton County Leadership Tomorrow class celebrated its graduation May 31, alongside a presentation of their class project and a brief history of the program given by community member Jeanette Friesen.
“As I am sure you’ve realized, Aurora is a really unique community,” she began. “If you’ve lived in any other places and been in other parts of our state or world you know that there is no place like Aurora.”
Twenty-nine years ago a group got together with the intent to create a leadership development program, she explained.
“They knew they wouldn’t be around forever and they wanted to make sure that there were leaders that were prepared to take the baton as time went on,” Friesen said. “They just wanted to make sure that this strong community would continue.”
