Back in action for another viewing period at the Plainsman Museum, “Community Works” attracted a special guest last week.
This collaborative exhibition between the Plainsman and the Smithsonian Museum’s “Museum on Main Street” program was a hit with locals, however had not yet been visited by Humanities Nebraska -- one of the organizations behind the Plainsman’s participation -- until now.
“It’s a wonderful exhibit,” said Humanities Nebraska associate director Mary Yager. “It’s obvious the care and attention that the people who were involved in it took with the exhibit.”
Yager further noted that the time taken on pieces such as the photos and graphics really made the exhibit pop.
There are also artifacts from the Plainsman’s own archives set on display to help illustrate the story in a three-dimensional way.
