Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for Dan Fitzgerald, who ended his 50-year career on the same day he started it, both falling on Friday the 13th.
Fitzgerald was the guest of honor at a retirement send-off Friday, where Chief Industries CEO DJ Eihusen tipped his hat to the outgoing manager of the BonnaVilla Homes plant in Aurora, who said it was a bitter-sweet day of emotions.
“Seldom is there a word that’s so fitting because right now we’re going to be bidding a fond farewell to an individual that means the world to so many of us, and that’s the bitter part,” Eihusen began during a gathering at the plant with all BonnaVilla employees. “The sweet part is that he gets the opportunity now to spend time with his family.”
Eihusen announced recently that Mike Morrow, a 25-year veteran in the industry who has served as sales/engineering manager at BonnaVilla for the past 9-1/2 years, has been named as the plant’s new general manager.
