The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners met Monday with a light agenda. First on the list for discussion was to consider the creation of a separate bank account for funds received by the county from the COVID American Rescue Plan.
“They have said that they’re assuming it’s going to be like any other funds like this that we get,” Hamilton County Treasurer Jody Griffith said. “That any interest received would have to be spent in the same manner. We have to keep that totally separate, so rather than it going in to our normal fund, where I every month have to separate how much interest each dollar amount got, I’d just as soon put that in a separate account.”
