The Aurora City Council approved an audit of last year’s fiscal statement March 22, which included recommendations based on comparisons to audits of 75 like-sized towns in Nebraska. 
Michael Hoback, a partner with AMGI, P.C. based in Grand Island, offered mostly positive remarks during a 20-minute review of the audit, though there were some line items that drew more detailed remarks and recommendations. 
“Overall, I think the city is in great shape,” Hoback said. “You’ve done a great job, of past councils and the mayor and the seven people seated here right now, as far as property taxes and keeping a good levy. You have to learn to grow your cash reserves but you guys have done a lot of great things.”
