The Aurora City Council approved the preliminary plat for a new Willis Subdivision on Grant Street during a brief meeting March 9.
Adam Darbro, the city’s planning and zoning administrator, explained that the Willis Subdivision was previously approved by the Aurora Planning Commission, where Andrew and Taylor Willis, along with Lee Friesen, spoke in favor of the project.
The Willises own a little over 2 acres north of a warehouse used for their ag spraying business on Grant Street. They intend to keep one acre, but are seeking to split the property so that 1.3 acres can be sold. Lee Friesen is the proposed buyer, having announced plans to build a structure for his farm business on the property.
