The Aurora City Council approved the final plat for the newly proposed Aurora Community Clubhouse Subdivision last week, paving the way for a project expected to begin later this year.
Two local entities focused on meeting the community’s recreational needs announced plans in December to combine efforts and build a new Aurora Community Clubhouse overlooking Poco Creek Golf Course. The golf course board has been contemplating what to do with the existing clubhouse structure for more than a year, having acquired the Vet’s Club building in 2019.
Based on member feedback and a detailed structural analysis, the decision was made to demolish the aging structure and build a new clubhouse.
Rather than tackle that project on its own, however, the Poco Creek board reached out to Hamilton Recreation, Inc. (HRI), and the two groups negotiated a plan both agree will enhance their missions while also providing a new facility for general community use.
