Area municipalities to receive $1M in COVID relief funding
Allocations from Treasury reportedly subject to change
The City of Aurora and surrounding six villages in Hamilton County are projected to receive a combined $1.03 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds, according to estimates released last week.
The historic American Rescue Plan Act was signed into law March 12, delivering $65 billion of direct and flexible aid to America’s cities, towns and villages. Of that, approximately $292 million is earmarked for municipal funding throughout Nebraska, as detailed on the National League of Cities website.
The U.S. Department of Treasury is in the process of refining the estimates for allocations from the state and local fiscal relief funds, but estimations for each municipality have been released. It should be noted that these are estimates from the House Committee on Oversight, not final allocations, and are subject to change.
