County to move Extension office to fairgrounds

After several years of conversations and planning involving the county commission, the Extension Service and the fair board, Hamilton County finally has a plan in place to build a new headquarters for its county Extension office at the fairgrounds.

The museum rotunda was filled with local supporters Monday evening as the Plainsman Museum hosted its annual fundraiser meal and auction. A total of more than $25,000 was raised during the event, which featured several guests dressed in historical attire.

City officials are optimistic heading into the fifth year of operating Aurora’s fire-based ambulance service, with an experienced captain now at the helm and a larger, more stabilized crew of EMTs available to handle 911 and transfer calls.
