Jeremy Cattau was confirmed last week as the city’s new public works director, stepping in to fill a void left after Adam Darbro was appointed last month as city administrator.Cattau, a native of Columbus, has been employed by the city for 10 years, having moved to Aurora in 1995.

Forty-six years after he sold the red 1970 Dodge Challenger A-66 he owned in high school, Bill Gowen finally has the car back and plans to make restoring it one of his retirement projects.

At first glance it might appear as if the book “Echoes of Mercy” by first-time author Susan Hamlin of Aurora is about about a prodigal son.

Community Band to perform at State Fair

The Hamilton County Community Band is celebrating 120 years of making music with a debut performance at the Nebraska State Fair this year. On Monday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m., the band will perform at the Earl May Fair Square.
